She studied Physics and works as a teacher. In 2016 she was awarded the First-time Writer Award of the Greek section of IBBY for her picture book Do you speak plouton? . ABOUT THE BOOK Ippolytos, a humble, hardworking shoemaker, arrives barefooted as a refugee to the city of shoes, where everyone is rich and happy, because they wear the most beautiful shoes in the world: their king, a famous shoemaker, gives his people all the pairs they desire. But soon Ippolytos will learn the truth: every pair is of one and only size: the king’s size! When people start complaining to Ippolytos, everything will change… ABOUT THE AUTHOR Konstantinos Tzamiotis was born in 1970. A novelist, short story writer and playwright, he studied Film, and has worked in television, advertising and cinema. He has been the editor of Highlights , a culture magazine, for several years. His first play, No man’s land , won the State Prize for new playwrights. He represented Greece with that same play in the European Anthology of Plays of the Salvatore Quasimodo Institute. ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR Sandra Eleftheriou lives and works in Larnaka, Cyprus. She has studied graphic design and she has been working as an illustrator for children’s books since 2004. She has won the Cyprus State Award of Illustration by the Cyprus Ministry of Education and Culture three times. She represented Cyprus in the 2012 IBBY Honors List, and is also nominated for the 2020 Hans Christian Andersen Illustration Award, representing Cyprus.
